My understanding is your a north fan if I'm wrong my apologies
Last time I was at prospect very few north fans those there and in charge seemed to be mired in the 1970s
You can't just say it's the Eagles because looking at other clubs and grounds must come into some consideration.
Prospect looks like one of the worst grounds off the field .

So besides north falling away who else is ?

It seems someone is somewhat bitter the Eagles are making a proactive effort to increase their crowds.

He gets rather boring or like a dog with a bone .
Not sure why he keeps bringing this up .
He keeps saying Eagles then mentions South and west
Does first 21 mention the crowds on south and west games
But wait he can't understand what I post
Don't worry first 21 in a few weeks I'll be helping your children or grandchildren read in primary schools in the adelaide area

All I can say is that Phil H deserves everyone's congratulations for getting such an excellent crowd to a SANFL game.

A lot of hard work rewarded.

I think it is great that so many people turned up. Particularly the kids. If they go regularly to SANFL games and have a good time with a feed and a kick of a footy there is more chance they might become a fan.

Port and the Crows should be encouraging more of this type of promotion, it was kinda promised when they were let in.

Before anyone freaks out I'm not a school teacher .
Part of my study course is helping reception students learn phonics to read English .
If that doesn't scare you I could also be helping your parents or grand parents .
And other things as well

When you go to Prospect Oval on Saturday, First 21, watch the Mini League kids when they return in the 3rd quarter from their game and see how many stick around and how many go straight home.

As I wrote elsewhere yesterday

You would be amazed how many auskicker families leave Adelaide Oval (both Power and Crows) as soon as they get back from the half time game late in the 3rd quarter. Also happens with the mini leaguers at most SANFL venues I call at.

And yes happened at Woodville on Sunday, breaks my heart every year walking down the Southern end of Woodville to set up the parade as entire clubs pack up & walk past me on way out, couldn't even stay another 10-15 minutes to be in the parade and be acknowledged by the crowd. That said a lot did stay, lead of the parade was almost at the northern 50m arc by the time the end of it entered the arena.

And with the treasure hunt that keeps quite a few around for an extra 20 - 25 minutes or so.

I think this year weather was a big issue ... for casual family fans, which is what we are looking at here, it just wasn't a comfortable afternoon to stick around with a biting breeze all day and heavy rain on the way.

Whilst stickability will always be an issue, the benefits to the Eagles, let alone the enjoyment experienced by the hundreds of kids participating makes it one of the most worthwhile current promotions I know of in the SANFL.

That is why despite leaving WWT as a part time employee last October, the Eagles asked me to co-ordinate the event around my full time job and why I agreed to do so.

& BTW appreciate all the kind words but I should mention the success of days like this rely on a HUGE team effort. There were about 20 people at the Eagles / SANFL Juniors there from 7am setting up, some still going until 6pm.
Throw in all the junior club coaches, manager, volunteers, umpires community group organisers, auskick co-ordinators etc and I think I counted over 300 people who played a key role in organising part of the day.

The amazing thing is this organised chaos actually works mainly because they all get into the spirit of putting on a great day for the kids.

Works for me.

4,600-odd would say that a lot did stay, which is great.

Centrals bring the local primary school comp (which seems to be 80% Trinity College these days) to Elizabeth as the curtain raiser for one of their games against the Crows, and many stick around to watch the league match. Think this year their biggest home crowd was this match, and last year was second to the Good Friday game.

Junior carnivals/primary school comps/community days seem to be a successful way of getting people to games involving the Crows.

I think it would be a good way of all clubs developing their school zones by inviting one or two of the senior schools / colleges at First 18 level in their zone to do it when they play the Crows.
