Good question F10 and one I don't have an answer for. I suspect the damage is done now, but obviously couldn't say for sure.

It was disgraceful, childish and completely unprofessional.

To say"never in doubt"after final siren shows arrogance and disrespect in my eyes.  I was not the only one who thought this either !

Might expect it from the supporters but not from the announcer. Shows arrogance which is not needed and given their lack of success in GF's recently, somewhat presumptuous.

Norwood has been beaten 3 times by less than a kick this season
All 3 games Norwood led with about a minute to go , and the opposition scored late goals
One of the last things I want to hear is any ground announcer saying that it was never in doubt

Im pretty sure the announcer at Woodville Oval would have been jiving with his comment
But there are  no Wink Wink  Wink  Wink  Wink  Wink  Wink  Wink  Wink  Wink  Wink  Wink  emoticoms over a loud speaker to verify that

I believe the Woodville announcer was the old Elizabeth announcer, who went to Woodville chasing more money.

I got you.

Right now I see red, though.

I hope I never see a seaon like this again.

However, it's one step ahead at a time and I just hope history never repeats. It never ceases to amaze me.

Sorry I shouldn't have got started on this.

That was my mistake.

Btw don't recall hearing any PA system of any sort at Alberton last Sunday? Made for an all-round weird afternoon of 'League' footy.

Think most grounds in general have very good announcers - Sturt, South & Westies in particular.

The PA is crucial to creating a good atmosphere and hearing the team songs pre-match, music during the breaks and the winning team's song a few times post match are essential.

The PA at Norwood has been average at best for decades now, in fact I could almost blame the Crows (AFL version), that's how long!

Alberton's is probably the quietest, as it's only a couple of speakers on the Quinn Stand. Sometime's it's a struggle to hear it in the Williams Stand, let alone across the ground.

Norwood's depends pretty much on how much they turn on. They have speakers around the ground, but sometimes they don't turn them on.

It's the same with the siren. If it goes through the PA, you can hear it. If it doesn't, it's inaudible - as we saw rather embarrassingly during the AFLW game held there.

Even with the speakers on I think it's well below par.

Probably a fringe league  player who had been given plenty of opportunities at that level and never really impacted. Wish him all the best.

I notice that the SA U18 team song is a slightly amended version of the Crows song. Why is that? (For a start, do they really need a song to sing and secondly, why a song based on one particlular AFL club's song?)
I can't imagine Port being terribly happy with that and secondly, would the Vic Metro song be a version of one of the Victorian AFL clubs' songs?

In one of the least sporting things I've seen, many years ago the Vic Metro team went over to the SA huddle to sing their song.

My memory might not be correct, but I think it was around the time Luke McCabe played 18's for SA.

As I said, might be mixed memories.

no interest in it when they pull players playing LEAGUE FOOTY out of their teams just to help the recruiters watch them run around, surely playing league footy is better for their development than tin pot matches, i think the recruiters should earn their money by doing their work rather than getting it on a plate for them
