Round 16
2002
Friday Night
Parade

NW 25-17[167]
PA 7-8 [50]

The Williams Gallagher Cup winner in 2002 was Norwood
The presentations were made near the Parade end of the ground
Players from both teams hung around for the presentation

One person in the crowd yelled out something like this :
" Jarrod Cotton 10 goals Port 7-8."

The look on a couple of Port players on the ground said it all
Some Norwood supPORTers thought it amusing

Jarrod Cotton will now coach Norwood for a second time

So, is it a fresh start for Norwood or not?

Was the appointment a fait accompli?

Regardless, good luck to Jarrod.

My take is that it wasn't a fait accompli as such. The club has a lot of faith in Jarrad and are very comfortable with his coaching abilities, but did the right thing to see if there was anyone they considered outstanding enough to overtake him.

Your question about a fresh start is a good one and one I can't really answer.

Are you saying he was bought in to replace him ? Did he have a two year deal Warren . What are you insinuating Lee ?

Not insinuating anything. Most thought Jarrod was the likely appointment.

Norwood went through a proper process.

I always felt the appointment of Warren was wrong and it turned out just that.

A new coach means a fresh start for the Legs . Some big wraps on him and I see them jumping back up .

I wouldn't mind Glenelg making a wrong appointment like that & having the wrong appointment as a premiership coach........let's hope there is no "outside interference" for Jarrod

Depends on how you see things , long term or short term. I always thought it was a bad decision and said the same after they won the Premiership .

One of us was wrong.

Ask South Adelaide if they would take a coach that brings them a flag, then they slide down the ladder for a couple of years?
