grand final omens/signs

Post by bayman on Thu Sep 22, 2016 12:13 am

Stick in anything that could be classed as an omen or a sign that either Sturt or Woodville-West Torrens will win this week that you have seen this week...

I've got 3 to start it off
1, on Monday veteran harness trainer George Smith who is an avid Sturt man who goes to most games trained cleaver greene to win

2, I saw Martin Mattner getting out of his car today as I drove past Unley Oval

3, I saw former player Stephen White delivering for highway meats also today

Yesterday was also apparently 40 years to the day (25/9/76) that Sturt won the 76 grand final. Many have that one as Sturt's finest hour, certainly of those too young to really experience the 66-70 set.

Fitting in a way that another number 8 won the JO Medal. Baggy, who flew in with the cup in a chopper would have been happy with that.

I guess Colville has Eagles cred so that is ok.

Given Baggy's seniority / vintage, perhaps a Lindsay Head, Ralph Sewer or someone of that ilk would have put a bit of a traditional or hitorical spin on the chopper pageantry.
