Round 22: Centrals v West - Saturday 27 August @ My Money House Oval

Post by Brucetiki on Mon Aug 22, 2016 11:08 pm

Centrals (5th 9-8 52.41%) v West (10th 2-15 34.50%)
Saturday 27 August
My Money House Oval

Reserves: 11:25am
League: 2:10pm

Barring a massive West win, Centrals will be finishing the minor round in 5th spot, while West will go from Premiers to wooden spooners in just 1 season. Will West finish the season with some pride, or will Centrals inflict further misery on West?

Daniel Caires 200th game for Westies and Adam Hartlett's last game.

I think the Bloods will lift.

Enough to win, though?

Lee, why did Travis Tuck not play in Berri?

Midfielder Hugh Haysman (knee) and key forward Daniel Webb (ankle) will miss the Bloods’ last encounter with minor injuries.

Sniff an upset here, but perhaps not enough to knock the Dogs out of finals.

For Central to secure 5th spot they need to either

Defeat West
or
Draw with West
or
lose to West but keep the losing margin as follows
Central score 0-2, lose by 34 or less
Central score 3-17 lose by 33 or less
Central score 18-31 lose by 32 or less
Central score 32-46 lose by 31 or less
Central score 47-61 lose by 30 or less
Central score 62-75 lose by 29 or less
Central score 76-90 lose by 28 or less
Central score 91-104 lose by 27 or less
Central score 105-119 lose by 26 or less

Don't think the result was ever in doubt, however West never threw in the towel, and Centrals were made to work for the win. In the end, 4 goals in the last 5 minutes blew the margin out, but full credit to West for putting up a fight.
