South by 6 goals. Didn't think they'd be this good.

Don't necessrily disagree, but interested whether you said that at the time or just now?

Fair call . 100 % honest though, said it all along. If I thought he was the right appointment I wouldn't say it as they are around the mark but their game plan is the same as Bassets. Everyone has moved past that now.

Yes i think you've nailed it. I didn't know how he would go, but you're spot on about the extension of the Bassett style which, thankfully for the league and entertainment value, is now consigned to history.

SA 15-12
NW 12-7

Southees should have won by plenty more
Norwoods skills were woeful at times until later in the game
South fed on numerous turnovers by the Redlegs

Eddy 3 goals
Johnson 5 goals
Magnificent kicking accuracy for goal by both of them in this match

Jaryd Cachia looks to have what might be a serious injury ?
The day after this match was completed , Jaryd has his 25th birthday [born 8/5/91]

A real tough struggle but a win none the less. South held sway for most of the day but Norwood kicked 4 goals on the trot early in the last to draw within 11 pts. great to see South steady and once again impose themselves on the contest and draw away and win by 23 pts.
The 3rd quarter was one of the most bizarre Ive seen. Cachia stretchered from the ground with what looked like a serious ankle injury, a few minutes later Souths Tom Fields finished unconscious after a marking contest and lay prone on the ground, a team mate placing him on his side and ensuring he didnt swallow his tongue before trainers arrived.he was stretchered from the ground also. These events held up play for several minutes. Then all hell broke loose when Souths Daniel Bass in attempting to break past a shepherd collected a Norwood player high in a reckless act. Bass was then set upon by a horde of Redlegs players who ran from all parts of the ground. What ensued was one of the biggest all ins that Ive seen in the SANFL for quite a few years; there will be surely be more reports to come from this incident. All up the quarter went for 39 minutes!

Very happy with where South are at, long way to go yet, but it is a good thing to see these wins on the board and to see South Adelaide finally stand up and beat some of the dominant sides in the SANFL which has not often been the case in seasons past!

Interesting to see that Bass received a 2 match suspension for his indiscretion and there were no other reports...????..What ensued was an all in brawl when Norwood players came from everywhere to remonstrate with Bass and from what I saw there were plenty of punches thrown and clearly quite a few connected -if you saw Bass post game. He looked like a poor mans Stephen Sims..

South were up by about 33 or 39  points when Bass was booked
With about 5-10 minutes of playing time left in the 3rd qtr
With South kicking with a breeze in the last quarter , it appeared at the time that South would win this game by 50-75 points

From that point onwards Norwood played some of its best football for the 2016 season
I could not question the commitment of the Norwood players b4 and definitely after that incident

That incident 'might' be a turning point of Norwoods season

I also enjoyed the work of Stephen Keam on Life.

I also would have thought there would have been t least a few fines out of the melee.

Also does anyone know why Norwood players warmed up in the crowd before the game, I was surprised to see them walk around the oval ended up having them warm up about 5 meters in front of me?

Has there been any further comment made by SAFC regarding Tom Fields besides what was on the SANFL website on Monday?
