Round 5: Glenelg v Adelaide - Sunday 24 April @ Gliderol Stadium

Post by Brucetiki on Mon Apr 18, 2016 8:35 pm

Glenelg (6th 1-2 55.91%) v Adelaide (2nd 3-0 64.67%)
Sunday 24 April
Gliderol Stadium

League: 2:10pm

Glenelg fell just short against Norwood, while Adelaide continued their perfect start to the season against the Eagles. Will Glenelg end Adelaide's undefeated run, or will Adelaide make it 4-0.

anything can happen in a sporting contest, even Djokovic got beaten the other night at $1.01 so while logic says we'll struggle it is possible & i think the smaller ground suits us a lot better than it'll suit them.............................maybe we could dig some divots around the oval & watch them ask for them to be replaced, we could refuse & win on forfeit Razz (this happened at Richmond a few weeks ago, they insisted on replacing the divots before taking the field)

can't believe Kirkbys' been dropped this week, sure he had an ordinary match last week but given the size of the Adelaide bodies i would have thought we would need every big body we had this week

Kirkby was ordinary last week but as the Ressies aren't playing it is not as if he can get a game in the magoos to find touch. Strange decision really. Looks like the coach is going for pace.

Crows have too many AFL listed players so I think they will win by 4 goals in front of their 200 supporters

Adelaide by about 30 points. Bays will dig in hard though so shouldn't be a walk in the park for them.

GLENELG 3.1.19 7.3.45 10.7.67 13.8.86

ADELAIDE 4.1.25 9.5.59 12.10.82 17.14.116

Well we were brave and had a crack but the superior fitness told out in the long run, I think Sellar played his best game for the club today, I am not one to be critical of umpiring as a rule but today I thought we got dudded by them, one umpire in particular seemed to be overawed by the crow players, just like a kid looking at his heroes

Form what I saw today, Glenelg would have beaten any other SANFL club
Some Adelaide Reserves inside 50 brilliance was one of the reasons why they won

Terry Milera is a wizard
Is he good enough to be re-drafted ?

Ricky Henderson would have to get Medal votes on todays showing

fair enough too, what is unfair is Otten got 2 matches for ''intentionally touching an umpire'' i'm sorry but if you INTENTIONALLY touch an umpire you should get a lot more than that, i believe if he wasn't an AFL listed player he would have got a minimum of 5 matches

Didn't a Port player get 3 weeks last year for basically the same offence?

I thought it was more Otten wanted to get back at the guy who just hit him and the ump was in the way. The punishment for what was light and incidental contact in one way seems harsh but given that the umps are sacrosanct then 2 weeks seems fair to me.

Mr Booney,  I at least show respect when posting directly to you & while it is on the lower scale of words I take offence at your swearing at me, this is a footy forum & kids will read it & with this in mind I don't think anyone me included should be swearing on forums that kids who like football will go to forums such as this one & obviously they can read,  I think we (all adults) should show some maturity for this reason alone, as for the incident well if Moore got 3 as I've read then Otten deserved the same

Well, if you "believe" he would have got 5 games if he wasn't AFL listed, which you have NO basis to work that on, I can't help you.

If your anti-AFL bias skews your thought process then my thoughts aren't going to help.

Apologies to "all the kids" ( what kids? ) who read this forum. ( Because they've never heard the word BS before )

well Mr Booney,
my two 7 year old twin nephews were shocked at what they read with me, knowing their parents i doubt that they've ever heard that or other words before

i'm not as intellectual as you so i do not know what the word ''skews'' means, so therefore not entirely sure what you mean, you are correct i have NO BASIS but i am allowed to THINK that, as it does happen in some walks of life

oh & i asked you a question before & you either missed it or chose not to answer it but i want to know do you think that Port should start paying the $50,000 to each sanfl club to play in the sanfl like the crows do or do you think that they shouldn't have to pay ?
