How would Adelaide have gone in the Finals?

Post by Lee on Mon Sep 07, 2015 10:11 am

I think we were all reieved that Adelaide didn't quite make the finals and thought they would have gone all the way.

I had an interesting conversation about this and was told that wouldn't have been the case at all, as perhaps only a dozen of their players would have qualified.

Not only that, but several of their top-up players would have been playing local finals and they might have struggled to field a decet side.

Interesting question for someone to work out who would have qualified.

Aren't they able to keep playing their players so long as they are still in the AFL finals? Therefore at this stage they would have been able to play them all this week and all next week?

These players played more than 10 SANFL matches:

James Podsiadly
Reilly O'Brien
Harrison Wigg
Jack Osborn
Keenan Ramsey
Anthony Wilson
Brodie Martin
Sam Kerridge
Luke Lowden
Mitchell McGovern

More SANFL matches than AFL (including three after June 30)
Mitchell Grigg (9 SANFL 6 AFL)
Sam Shaw (9-2)
Andrew Otten (8-0)
Harrison Dear (4-0)

Is this seriously a topic?
Shocked

Wonder how far North would have got, if they played in the elimination final? Or Plympton's C grade, wonder if they'd have done well. What about Westies ladies team, they could have progressed past the first week!

Unbelievable.
