Weddings Parties Anything

One of the seminal bands of this country, it was saddening to hear last year that Michael Thomas, lead singer and founder, announced the band would be no longer, in any form.

A very keen footy fan, Thomas often wove football into their music, particularly the likes of "Under The Clocks", with many references to football in Victoria on Saturdays.

If you've never heard any of their material beyond "Fathers Day" (Actually one of their weaker songs, IMHO), then honestly, seek them out on Youtube and the like. Once bitten, so many are hooked right in to their material. Some good starting points for material would include "Hungry Years", "Roaring Days", "A Tale They Won't Believe", "Ticket In Tatts" and "Away Away", and then work onwards from there.

Absolutely love this band, one of my favorites ever to come from this country.

I can't remember the name of the song offhand, but the one about Collingwood was a fav of mine. All about their bleak period in the 70s and 80s.

Another about South Melbourne's relocation to Sydney.

Yeah one of my fav Aussie Bands too.

Mick Thomas is now spending his time running The Yarra Hotel, with former Grace Emily licensee (and Panther champion;) ) Klanger.
